Site of the Month - Cadets get certified in CPR

Spc. Corey Shea, USA - Killed in Action (12 November 2008)
 

It is with deep sadness that Freedom Division regrets to announce the death of former cadet, Spc. Corey Shea, United States Army.

Spc. Shea was killed in action on Wednesday 12 November 2008 when he and other members of his unit were attacked by a renegade Iraqi Soldier.

Corey was a Cavalry Scout and served with Killer Troop, Third Squadron, Third Armored Cavalry Regiment out of Fort Hood Texas. He had been Iraq for over a year, and he was to return home on leave in January 2009.

Corey's Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Iraq Veterans Relief Organizations. If you would like to make a donation or would like help finding an organization, please feel free to contact us.

Petty Officer 1st Class Crane (August 2008)  

Congratulations to Petty Officer 1st Class Spencer Crane on his promotion!

In addition to his promotion, Petty Officer Crane has also been appointed Freedom Division's Leading Petty Officer!

New Instructor in Freedom Division! (August 2008)
 
INST Fred MacLennan, formally a Petty Officer 1st Class, United States Navy recently joined Freedom Division. He will be serving double duty as both an Instructor and the Division's Medical Officer.

INST MacLennan served both in the Navy and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In addition to his service in the Military INST MacLennan worked as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic for several Private Ambulance Companies.

INST MacLennan Holds degrees from both Northeastern University and Stone Hill College.

We are extremely excited to have him aboard as a member of our crew!
Two cadets receive awards for Service at Recruit Training Command New England 2008 (August 2008)
 

Chief Petty Officer Keith Flavin, NSCC, while attached to Recruit Training Command New England, earned the NSCC Meritorious Recognition Ribbon for services rendered while in Command of the Infirmary.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Spencer Crane, NSCC, while attached to Recruit Training Command New England, earned the NSCC Citation Ribbon for services rendered while serving as a Company Commander for the Naval League Cadet Corps Orientation.

Selected as Site of the Month (February 2008)
 
The NSCC Site of the Month Award is given to the NSCC site selected by the members of the NSCC Internet Development Group . Nominees can be submitted by unit members, regional staff officers, or members at large by using the Feedback Page or sending an email to the Resources Page Administrator . Site will be selected based on excellence in web development and outreach, criteria includes; site originality, content, ease of use, image, and conformance of content to the NSCC/NLCC Regulations and the NSCC Internet Standards and Practice Guide.

www.FreedomDivision.net has been in existence for six weeks and is growing larger by the day. We have been honored by being recommended for and selected as the NSCC Site of the Month.
Cadets Get Certified in CPR (February 2008)
 

Cadets from both Freedom Division (011FDM) and Falcon Division (014FAL) are participating in a CPR Certification Training held at the Sherborn Fire Rescue Department on Sunday 10 February 2008 at 1400.

Cadets will be certified to the Heartsaver Level. Their training will include Adult and Pediatric CPR as well as training and certification with Adult & Pediatric Automatic External Defibrillation (AED).

Upon Completion of the CPR/AED Course, cadets will received their CPR/AED Certification Cards. Pictures will also be posted on the Photos Page.
